I am so excited to feature another beautiful lady on Meet Me Monday! Emma Rae has an amazing ministry of painting custom bibles. Through this ministry, she has been able to touch so many. She also loves watching Friends, drinking tea, and spending time at the beach. Get to know her better below!
A little history about you and where you come from!
Hello there! My name is Emma & I am from sunny West Palm Beach, Florida! I am a Floridian at heart (mostly because I wouldn’t be able to survive a winter hah!) and I am originally from the west coast of Florida, near Naples. I moved over to West Palm (east coast) to attend Palm Beach Atlantic University & ended up falling in love and marrying my best friend here last summer! In school, I studied Business Management with a concentration in small business/entrepreneurship because I always knew I wanted to own my very own creative small business someday. I’m so blessed to say that at 22 years old that is my reality (and I absolutely love it!)
How did your relationship with God start?
I was blessed with the most amazing parents who shared the gospel with me at a very young age. I grew up in the church, but really owned my relationship with Christ as a middle school student in youth group. I got plugged in with the worship band & small groups and that really helped refine my faith and keep me grounded being a part of that community with great leaders. I was never really interested in “what everyone else” was doing throughout middle and high school and focused more on being creative as my outlet. I thank my parents for being great role models in my life & always supporting me and my sisters. I was blessed to experience the love & faithfulness of the Lord at a young age and that has carried over to my adult life.
How has your business changed your relationship with God?
The Lord is constantly teaching me through being a business owner. It is definitely not always easy and it’s in those rough moments where I turn to Him for rest. I constantly have to put my trust in Him throughout this process and remember His faithfulness.
What is a challenge you have overcome through this ministry?
I’m a super sensitive person. Sometimes to a fault. I often let things bother me that really shouldn’t. Something that has become my mantra throughout pursuing this ministry is “grace > perfection”. I am constantly in need of the Lord’s grace. I mess up… a lot! But that’s okay because I’m not supposed to be perfect. I’m learning a lot as I go, but it is refining me into the person that I am today.
What was a challenging season of your life and how has God used it?
A huge part of my testimony includes the verses from Psalm 139:13-14, “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” Something that I have struggled with in life is my self-image and comparison. This verse always reminds me that I am made for a unique purpose & God made me exactly the way He intended. He does not make mistakes. He has taken my biggest insecurity in life and turned it into something beautiful (more of my story:https://www.facebook.com/notes/in-his-name-co/the-in-his-name-co-story-how-god-took-my-biggest-insecurity-made-it-into-somethi/708796142652992/)
What piece of advice would you give Christian girls and women?
You are enough! You are chosen for a purpose way bigger than your wildest dreams. You are set a part. You are beautiful & loved so deeply by the God who breathed the stars, created the mountains and made the vastness of the sea. Cling to the promises He has uniquely given you.
