I started this tip as “go to the gym” but I soon realized this didn’t work for me. Sometimes I just need a walk with the pup or to go for a swim but, of course, I go to the gym as well. I thought this was just for my physical body but I soon realized this helped my mental health as well. To read the full story on my transformation, click here (LINK). There is no stress that cannot be reduced by putting on some worship music and moving.
Read the Bible Everyday
I used to take care of my physical body, mental health (the counselor in me) but forgot about my soul. I think this is far too common. By feeding my soul everyday through His Word, I have had more energy to serve others and love them because I am not drained spiritually and emotionally. I have also noticed myself focusing less on myself and more on others which is exactly what God has called me to do. After seeing these changes, I have made this a non-negotiable in my daily routine. Even if it is just 10 minutes feed your soul every day.
Affirmation and Grateful Journal
This is something I have written about before but I cannot stress how much this has changed my day. I write down five affirmations about myself or “I am” statements. For example: I am beautiful, I am blessed, I am worthy…whatever it might be. Along with that, I write five things I am grateful for. This gets me in the right mindset and gives me a good attitude to take on the day.
Love Yourself in the Mirror
Please hear me out on this one. My sister told me about it and it is life changing. This goes along with affirmations a little but is slightly different. I stand naked (or clothed) in the mirror, look my reflection in the eyes and talk to myself but it must be all positive. You can say your affirmations, tell yourself you love yourself, say things you are grateful for or even forgive yourself for something. This is a crazy way to boost your confidence and tell yourself who you are in Christ.
